A Dream Retreat in Costa Careyes
Tucked within the exclusive coastal enclave of Careyes, Mexico, Casa La Huerta is more than a destination—it’s a living, breathing dreamscape For Milestone Celebrations, Soulful Escapes, and Design-Lovers Alike.
Whether you’re marking a milestone birthday, hosting an intimate anniversary gathering, or curating a soul-nourishing wellness retreat, this estate offers a setting unlike any other.
Originally conceived by French surrealist Jean Claude Galibert and later expanded by architects Alex and Lorena Possenbacher, Casa La Huerta is a bold architectural statement softened by lush jungle and endless views of the Pacific. Inspired by the fantastical gardens of Edward James in Xilitla, the property unfolds like a sculpture in motion—each curve, stair, and structure designed to awaken the senses.
Inside, the home is a celebration of Mexican craftsmanship, art, and spirit. Designer Raven Kauffman’s interiors weave together ceramics, textiles, and works by contemporary and indigenous artists. Every corner tells a story. The estate features six distinct suites, a Mongolian yurt ideal for ceremonies or for guests who prefer being closer to nature, a fully equipped sound healing dome with gongs and vibrational instruments, the Jade Spa for bespoke treatments, and two flexible-use rooms—comfortably accommodating up to 16 guests.
Casa La Huerta’s experience is elevated by its discreet and intuitive white-glove staff, including a resident mixologist and a private chef who crafts vibrant, deeply nourishing meals. With ingredients sourced both locally and internationally, the menu is tailored to complement the land and the experience—with accommodations for vegan, gluten-free, and specialty diets made with ease and care.
Move through sensory moments like the Gameletron gong sculpture or the kaleidoscopic FutureEyes installation—each inviting a deeper connection to sound, ritual, and self.
This is a place built for immersion. Bask beneath the sun beside a 24k gold-tiled mosaic serpent that winds through the pool. Sip mezcal at the Cosmic Eye Bar, its hammered brass and glowing agate fixtures casting a warm, otherworldly glow.
Wellness isn’t a service here—it’s a state of being. From cold plunges and sauna sessions to massage offerings and nature-based ceremonies, every detail is designed to restore, replenish, and reimagine what a retreat can feel like.
Whether you’re celebrating life’s biggest moments or simply seeking a creative, healing space to reconnect, Casa La Huerta is a portal—where art, architecture, and soul meet the sea.
